This involves finalising contracts and the start of construction, depending on the nature of the project the preconstruction stages can be more complex as there can be a greater need for effective communication and collaboration among teams, and local and national regulations. Cameras and sensors powered by AI are able to monitor construction sites, this helps to recognise potential safety hazards and alert workers to potential dangers that may be faced. These cameras are also able to monitor the construction process and ensure quality is up to control, identifying any defects, and alerting workers to issues that need to be addressed.

The progression of AI has meant machines are now able to be programmed into bricklaying, welding and even building structures through the use of 3D printing.
