Project Team Formula: Roles and Responsibilities of the Different Members
Not every project team is the same, the composition of the team is dependent on the project size and complexity, but typically you would find the following members:
Project Manager:
Oversees the entire project, sets goals, allocates resources, and ensures the project stays on track.
Building Surveyor:
Responsible for conducting surveys, inspections, and assessments of the building’s condition, compliance, and structural integrity.
Architect:
Designs and plans the building, ensuring it meets the client’s requirements and adheres to building regulations.
Structural Engineer:
Analyses the building’s structural components, ensures stability and safety, and provides engineering solutions.
Quantity Surveyor:
Manages the project’s budget, cost estimation and procurement of materials and services.
Planning Consultant:
Assists with planning permission applications and ensures the project complies with local planning regulations.
Health & Safety Officer:
Monitors and enforces health and safety standards on the construction site.
Contractors and Subcontractors:
Construction teams responsible for executing the building work.
