Flood Damage to Shops in Hammersmith
Quatrefoils were appointed on behalf of the Managing Agents for a parade of Shops in Hammersmith following a burst Thames Water main. The whole parade of shops suffered from extensive flood damage with the basements to each of the shops filling up with water all the way to ground floor level. The shops floors were affected by the water ingress and Quatrefoils were the project lead in managing and implementing the reinstatement works. The works were part of an insurance claim and involved various loss adjusters and loss assessors representing the various parties.
De-humidifiers were immediately installed once the buildings were declared safe to enter and the units were dried out for a number of weeks whilst all of the reinstatement works were being designed, specified, tendered and organised by Quatrefoils and the various parties involved. The works included an element of making good and reinstatement works to the ground floor shops, as well as a completely new tanking system by a specialist to the basements to enable the reinstatement works.
Quatrefoils also worked alongside the project Structural Engineer as there were some failures to some of the internal retaining walls. A temporary support proposal was designed by the engineer and implemented by a contractor on site before the main reinstatement works could proceed.
